Pinnacle TDY in CVG

I think we have about every DL Connection carrier in CVG now. Comair, ASA, SkyWest, CHQ, Shuttle, Freedom (opening a base apparently), and now Pinnacle. Hell, even BigSky had a short stint in CVG not too long ago. Funny how ASA, PNCL and F8 are growing in CVG and Comair is shrinking...

I saw the TDY form online for Sept. and CVG wasnt on there. Unless there was another notice that came out very recently.

DO airlines have TDYs to airports where we dont have a domociles?

TDY

whats TDY?
Temporary Duty.

When an airline has a short-term shortage of pilots in one particular airport they bring in crews from other bases to cover the one that is short. They might sit reserve at a hotel for the month, or be assigned trips.

It can be a good deal as opposed to sitting reserve at home if you want to make a bit of extra money in per diem since even if you are sitting at a hotel on reserve you are away from your actual base and you are getting per diem the whole time.

You just bid with that base you are TDYing in for that month. So depending on your seniority you will get a line, or sit reserve.

You get per diem 24/7 the whole month. So even on your day off, your making per diem!

Also depending on the contract the company will positive space you from your home to the TDY base. (great for commuters)
