Pinnacle Purchases Colgan Air

I understand that the whole reason the holding company that owns Pinnacle bought Colgan, is because the turbo prop sector is extremely profitable whereas the RJ sector isn't. So, because Colgan will be run completely separate from Pinnacle, they won't be getting any RJ's, but with a holding company involved, there may be money to get some Q400's.

That would be the honest thing to do and thats what they are telling us. It's the side games that bother both pilot groups right now

Re: Pinnacle and Colgan

Trust me that is an understatement!

:yeahthat: I know no one here (Colgan) that saw this coming. I finished my trip today and the ramper asked us what was up.

I said "what's up with what?"

He tells me we got sold...........HUH????

I had NO CLUE......

Gonna be very interesting to see how this plays out. Will we become unionized finally? Not sure. Now that we are no longer a "family outfit," I think it's gonna be necessary. After all, we don't need any corporate-types shoving hot pokers up our butts and telling us we need to enjoy it.

Instead of doing da Colgan it will be...

Doing da PinaColata!

I am getting myself mentally prepared for the ferry flights from ALB-ICT.

I don't think anyone here is interested in getting the whip-saw action that is probably coming down the line. :( Of the many people I've spoken to so far regarding this acquisition.....the unifying theme amongst them has been just that....UNIFYING! Most seem to think a union is going to be a NECESSITY to protect our common interests between the two groups.

This is either going to be very good for us or very bad. Not sure, but I don't think the "status-quo" is going to last forever. I'm too close to upgrade for this nonsense.......Uugggggghhhh

Goes to show that. . . these types of things happen very QUIETLY. . . not loud and ballsy like Doug Parker and his wish to buy out Delta.

Very interesting though. Guess Colgan will get some jets here soon. :sarcasm:

Well, I think this would be a really good time for ALPA to push for a vote at Colgan, and PCL to add a merged seniority list to their contract demands.

While they might not want to merge and some lose seniority to senior Colgan pilots, it would totally nip the whipsaw in the bud.

We really need to operate like RAH, separate companies, one pilot group.

Heath, what are you smoking man. Did you see what RAH did to Shuttle America during that Merger?

Colgan needs to get UNIONIZED fast IMO

So sincce Colgan is a family company is Chuck or his soon gonna do road shows to explain the merger that or send out a memo?

I've always heard that Chuck was so approachable and he always has an open door policy for his employees. Wonder if that door was closed today!

Nope, don't know about the RAH/Shuttle merger. But, I still believe, as it sounds like you do, too, that we need to unionize, like, yesterday.

    Holy Crap! You go off the radar screen for two days and look what happens while your gone. I hope all you Colgan an PCL guys don't get the shaft.
