Pinnacle/Colgan/Mesaba Final Ruling Docs

I vote for a new policy then. CC required to sign up. Rather than infractions, call it a beer point. A beer point is worth 5 bucks. All beer points go into a pool, and then grab a tab at the next career fair/ forum wide meet/greet. That way, if you really overstep the bounds, at least you follow the man code and settle up with a drink.

I don't say this to you often, however, that is brilliant.

Hehe, and 700 in front of some 07 hires.

Maybe the next time it'll go better for us, who knows. Just get used to being screwed when you are in this industry. Sometimes airlines go worst to first through no actions of their own, sometimes the reverse happens and they did everything right. We've all got jobs at the end of the day, and we can all expect the following; more change to come. The law of big numbers (may be made up for all I know) says you'll catch a break someday.

One thing is for sure, I sure wish I would have known enough to goto Mesaba in the first place rather than wasting all that time at Colgan. I certainly would have been a lot better off with an '06 hire date after this merger than my '07 date. That's what I get for doing no research.

What Cat/Status slot would you have fallen into as an 06 hire at Mesaba?

So if everyone "lost", who "won"?

Anyone whose relative seniority change is in the plus, I would say. Can someone post the excel sheet that shows everyones percentage gain or loss? I know it exists.

Seems very odd that colgan 04-06 hires lost 7-8 percent relative while colgan late 07 to early 08 gained 10-15 percent relative. That's a 23% relative seniority swing

I would have thought you would be wishin you had stayed at colgan? where would you be on the list at your cjc hire date?

It seems odd because it isn't true. With the exception of a few extremely junior guys, no pilot on the Colgan list GAINED relative. The Colgan pilots who fared the best simply remained in their same approximate relative position. However, the number of pilots who are in this position is extremely limited. Most ALL of the Colgan list decreased their relative seniority by at least 10%, some in the mid twenties.

We are just playing pretend. As long as we are playing pretend I'd be hundreds of numbers higher if I'd come here sooner. I'd have been a captain quicker, higher up the longevity, been first in line for those 200CA spots, blah blah blah blah. In every way that matters (pay, QOL, good contract) life would have been better if I'd come here first, or left Colgan sooner and come here. I would have been a 100 numbers or so higher if I'd stayed at Colgan but normally when I play pretend or judge things objectively I don't say "God I wish I'd stayed 3 more years in a hole just so I could be a 100 or 200 numbers higher". I just say, where would I have made more money and had a better QOL.

100 or 200? Joe, you would have been around 1000 numbers higher if you stayed at CJC.

If I'd gone to Mesaba first or left Colgan before the year I'd have been 1 o 2 hundred behind the Colgan hires I was with. I'm a late '07 hire at Mesaba, eh. If I'd stayed with Colgan I'd be 1000 numbers higher but I wasn't going to stay at Colgan, sorry man I hated it especially toward the end. A better idea would have been to leave early or not have gone to Colgan at all. 800 numbers higher on this list would be MORE than satisfactory for me rather than 1000.

PS. Just looked at your number, looks like I'll be throwing your gear before too long ;)

you have a good life for yourself in MEM. Besides, nobody would have ever guessed we would be merging with Mesabas list someday back in 07.

Yes, this house I'm in will be the crown jewel of my rental properties as soon as I move to CHS. Land mogul here I come!

Honestly I don't mind Memphis but CHS has 2 beaches and that's two more than MEM has. Besides let's face it, once me and the Fiancee move to CHS she'll want to come back to MEM because she'll miss it and I'll get to kick someone to the street. Hehe.

Actually... I know for a fact some late 07 and early 08 guys gained 10-15%. I don't know how many, that's why we need someone to post the excel sheet that shows all 3 groups. It really would stop some of the whisper down the lane "facts" that are being tossed around.

Well the group as a whole is confronted with a new challenge.

Where do you go from here? Lawsuits, gnashing at the teeth and years of navel fuzz contemplation or.... build hours and move up the food chain.

I know what I did! ;)

You know. Contemplating your navel. Navel-gazing. Dog chasing it's tail. Can anyone help me here? :)
