Pinnacle base swap rumor

With the same number of airframes and having to operate an LGA base (the rumor) I cannot imagine NOT needing increased staffing. Reserves in the -200 system are flying a lot and LGA doesn't have the makeup to be an easy flow through or DH like msp/dtw/mem and even ind. I have no knowledge other than what the company has already put out but it will be ugly to operate LGA with the same overall hours and staff levels. I forsee the need to run LGA like ATL with a deep reserve pool and pilots truly based in LGA and not just flowing through like the current bases. Who knows. Gotta love rumors.

I'd agree with that. As for ATL/MSP closing, it's sort of a toss up. Latest bid pack has 18 planes in MSP with around 4900 block hours vs 15 in ATL with around 4400. Thing is, it's easier to flow people outta MEM and DTW through MSP/IND than it is in ATL. It's really gonna depend on the mix (or even if) of -900s involved in the LGA debacle. If it's only a few, then expect guys to DH from ATL a la CVG (or even some TDYs in the Clarion. Woo hoo!)

If we DO lose MSP, it's gonna rock every base here. MSP is so senior that you can bet a lot of people from every other base are gonna be displaced. Me? I'll take LGA on a displacement. Means I get company $$ for my Orlando move. If I could find something to do with my house here, I'd actually be for it.

Delta can have their flights back at mainline. If you take all the regional flying back, means you're gonna have to hire. Which means more mainline jobs. I do NOT want to stay at the regionals for my career. Strike that. I won't. If I'm still at Pinnacle in 5 years, I'm switching careers.
