Pinnacle awarded the CRJ900's?

Then you're going to hate the 1000 - for all sorts of reasons..... :-)

I hope I never see that at a regional airline. Have they announced who signed those first 15 (or 20?) orders? I really hope it wasn't somebody in the US. Scope is getting bad enough with all the 900s and 175s running around.

I had an 'AVOID ATL' preference in my PBS recipe too.

I've only flown thru there about three times in the past year.

But they've got the best controllers on earth. They should send the controllers from SLC to ATL for an internship.

"Airliner 123, expedite down to 12000...."

"...Airliner 123, change of plans, descend and maintain 13000, turn left 90 degrees sequence behind a Brasilia, report traffic in sight."

:) SLC

"Airliner123, slow to 250"

"Airline123, speed up if you could to 310 but I'm gonna need you back to 280 by XYZ intersection in 5 miles"

"Airliner123, fly heading 155"

"Airliner123, fly heading 165, slow to 190"

"Airliner123, fly heading 145, expect 16L"

"Airliner123, fly heading 155"

"Airliner123, expect 17, speed up to 210"

"Airliner123, can I give you 16R?"

Somebody needs to go to school! :)

Apparently SLC ---IS--- school.

I hate speaking ill of anyone on the internet because it gets googled nightly, but man o man.

My personal favorite was getting sent around three times because of their sequencing problems. THEN they asked us to make the highspeed when we were finally able to land after we went critical fuel.

And I thought Charlotte was bad.

I've only been broken off the approach two times in a row and then had to Sturn down to about 300 feet the last time. Oh yeah, and it was the ONLY time I've been a lifeguard flight. Some priority we got.

Geeez, when I become a 121 pilot, i won't need to worry about missing my soaps while away on the road.

This industry, more especially the RFP world is Days of Our Lives in a cockpit!

Max, you have no idea....

Rumot around here is there won't BE a different base. We're all getting differences training the -900, and they're gonna mix the flying in with existing lines. I know some other airlines do this (Mesa with their -900 and PSA with the -700 I think), but I don't know how it works over there. It's gonna be a NIGHTMARE double checking the pay check every two weeks making sure I get paid for the -900 rate instead of the -200 rate if this happens.

From our PNCL MEC:

CRJ-900 Delta Flying

• Flying will be done by Pinnacle Airlines, Inc.
• Flying will originate at a Delta hub to be determined
• Differences training will be done only on those pilots holding vacancies on the CRJ900. A pilot base will be established and appropriate positions posted.
• New aircraft will come with a certain amount of paid training from Bombardier. The use of this training has yet to be determined.
• Aircraft are equipped with HF radios, dual FMS control heads and First Class seating
• All dispatching, etc will be performed via Delta. This will require different forms, MGL closeout data, etc.
• Initially, the staffing will run at 5:1 in order to insure that performance parameters are met. This group of aircraft should be looked upon as a “foot in the door”.
• Those who will qualify for Delta pass benefits are yet to be determined.
• No changes to current contract work rules are anticipated, including posting of vacancies and applicable seat locks.
• Parties mutually agreed to follow language contained in Section 26.Z (New Aircraft) and will negotiate a new pay rate scale when the parties meet in Kansas City beginning May 16. If the parties are unable to agree on pay rates, a neutral arbitrator will be chosen and the rates established by that person.

There are a number of details that still be worked out. As these details are available we will communicate them to you.
