Pilot's arm detaches during landing...

Must have been a heavy handed landing. Sure is handy to have a copilot with you for such instances. Unfortunately, training good pilots costs an arm and a leg, like the case at hand demonstrates...

Actually a left hook in this case ;)

I know some guys at Flybe who all say the gentleman in question is a top chap and tells similar jokes himself.

Would any of you make these comments if this pilot was in the room?

Would people who make certain comments about everyone from politicians to celebrities to, say, George Zimmerman or even their spouse do so if they were in the room? Probably not, but it happens.

But to answer your question, if I knew the guy and we shared the same sense of humor then I would in a minute. Like my good friend who had a colectomy, and to whom I said afterward, "How's it feel to now have a semicolon?"

And, yes, you thought that was riotously funny and couldn't quit laughing for several minutes.

Is there a way to NOT LIKE a post?

I'm sure he's heard them all. And yes, I would expect that he would groan and shake his head at them just like everyone else did.
Devils Advocate: How can you be so sure of his opinion. I understand if you know the guy and his sense of humor. But imagine that this thread is a crew room, he's fairly new and hyper-sensitive about his disability. This is a public portion of this board, and for all you know he read all these posts and laughed it off or he didn't.
