Pilots and Tattoos

Dude, I know a couple of ex-special forces soldiers who are not just smarter than me, but could kill me in ten different ways before I could blink. They got inked.

In fact, Chinook, don't a lot of you military guys get tatoos to identify what unit you are with?

Me? They're not my cup of tea. But to each his own. Now, are there career repercussions to having a tatoo that's visible? Yes, there are. But the intelligence of those who get tatoos goes all the way from just barely able to write their own name to geniuses who speak three different languages fluently and who are studying for their PhDs.
I know there are exceptions but I'm simply talking about on average. Getting a military tattoo is an entirely different mentality from the people just get something that looks cool.

Right, I mean there are plenty of straight edge Christians who get them and that has more to do with stupidity and conformity. Many if not most Christians have satanic values whether or not they worship Jesus they are still indulgent and personify the worst of both philosophies in my opinion. Of course I think getting a cross tattoo is more rebellious then getting an arm band or whatever is popular these days. Tattoos use to be rebellious now they are for conformity.

Yet another generalization...well it's 5pm and I'm off work. Time to go get a tattoo!

Before I go and get that tattoo dude I have to say it's either one things or another you can't have it both ways. So stop talking out of both sides of your mouth!

The same could, in a way, be said for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. So would it be fair to say that everyone who rides a Harley has a lower intelligence level?

This has got to be one of the dumbes threads I have read in a while. Started off informing but turned to crap FAST.

The only way to talk about a group that large is to generalize. I don't understand why you are saying that when I have made it abundantly clear that I'm referring to the AVERAGE. How many ####ing times do I have to say it.

Things can be indulgent and stupid at the same time there is no hypocrisy there.

A murdercycle is hardly a permanent thing. I know you can get a tattoo removed with lasers but that is very expensive and takes many visits to complete most people don't even if they really want to get it removed. It probably would be stupid to drive a Harley to an job interview though. I know like one person who owns a Harley but I know at least 20 who have tattoos and another 30 or so that want them and most of them are complete idiots.

I guess if you don't have a counterpoint you can do one of two things. You can take what I write out of context or distort it or you can just make some patronizing open ended comment about perspective and world view.

That is a serious question. In my experience the people I have known that have tattoos or unusual piercings have below average intelligence. I honestly would not trust those people with a 500 dollar car.
Grow up. That is my counterpoint.

But it IS about perspective and world view. Your post history clearly shows a lack of both. I challenge anyone to read Killtron's post history and not come to the same conclusion.

I get that you said average and I get all your disclaimers. Still, saying that the average tattooed person is less intelligent than a non-tattooed one is a bold, uneducated statement. You generalize based on your limited world view.

See... a lot of people you know... that's no basis for statement like you made.

Most high schoolers cant be trusted with a 500 dollar junker. Having a tattoo has nothing to do with a persons IQ. Thats just a dumb statement.

I know I can't possibly be an enlightened person unless I support degenerate people. Don't get me wrong I'm not out to get them I really hope everyone who reads this goes and gets a tattoo on their neck because I'm better off without the competition.

My sister has a tattoo. She's teaching medicine at one of the best medical schools in the country.

I'll be sure to tell her some people think that tattoo means she's stupid.

And now you're calling her a degenerate? Dude, I'm the screw up in my family -- my sister's teaching medicine, and my brother's got a law degree from one of the best schools in the country.

Guess who DOESN'T have any ink. The degenerate of the family -- me.

Where is it, is she hot?
