Darnit! I should have showed the flat-earth model as even our anti-science lunatics demand a voice.
When those New Yorkers deplaned not a single one seemed appreciative. I think I got a couple of" F the F'n tour. "
Anchorage center we’d like about 15 left to make our visual into juneau from the north.
5 minutes later….
Do you have the terrain in sight!?!? We show you in an area with an MVA of 8000
Affirmative, we have the terrain and the airport in sight
Is how I imagine it would go
If it happened
Which it didnt
If I did it it would be a visual approach, since a turbojet part 135 can’t cancel until 10 outVFR I assume?

Yeah, it would go something more likeAh cause no way I’m approving a turn that takes you into a higher MVA if you’re IFR
There’s always that one guy"we" used to be able to fly VFR in alaska, but someone ruined it (big surprise)
I remember 73s down low on CTAF a few times. Was one of the things that made a particular airline special to me."we" used to be able to fly VFR in alaska, but someone ruined it (big surprise)
Just try again. It’s never been a better time to have your pick.I remember 73s down low on CTAF a few times. Was one of the things that made a particular airline special to me.
Alas.

Breh Mexicana failed in like 2009 haha I was a 19 year old using airline first class as a way to get underaged drunk with the JC sub 21 mafia at that time and sending @DPApilot on random Brasilia roundtrips to pass the time while he waited for my shift to end.I was just going to bring this up. Isn’t the departure clearance basically get yourself to the Golden Gate Bridge then depart the Golden Gate Bridge heading XYZ or something?
Paging @ChasenSFO I wanna say the Mexicana pilots loved it and would request it?
Lol I never get bored of flying around San Francisco on a Bay Tour still even tho that's how I built most of my time, hard to imagine getting bored with Hudson views. I still actually plan where I'm sitting on airliners for SF photos on OAK/SFO departures despite all the bay tours to be honest. So some people must appreciate this kind of detour, at least. A pretty view is a pretty view, don't have to love planes to appreciate it.They’d probsbly been flying out of LGA all their lives and seen it plenty of times already. Hell I’m bored with the Hudson SFRA in a 172.
Did he bring one for you?Oh yes, the “Bay Tour”. I had a student who would often hook up with a stripper and call me at odd hours to take them on a bay tour. Super cool guy though! oh that dot com money in the 90’s.

@ChasenSFO only takes horses on bay toursIt’s ok, you can just say @ChasenSFO
Are they NATS up there? I'd guess that was more Spruce Route territory. If so it's pretty easy to coordinate something like that. I wouldn't want to try it on the NATS or with KZAK (or even worse Tokyo).
