Looks like the pilot did his best to get the airplane down safely. How did the pilot kill the man?
Not a good day in Venice this afternoon.
Lightning strike injures nine in Venice Beach
The Plane crash was in Venice Florida.
Uh, because he flew an airplane into him and he died as a result?
Wasn't judging, just stating facts.
Sorry, I misread, I thought that was a passenger.
With the right lawyer, anything is possible. So hypothetical not necessarily pertaining to this accident - if a pilot had to put down a plane due to negligence (let's say running out of gas) and strikes and kills someone, is there a precedent for criminal charges?
The lack of a pilot side door may have been a factor in that logic. I wouldn't put it in the water if I couldn't open the door before impact. With the right lawyer, anything is possible.
Not judging, but: If I were putting down on a beach during peak season I would have to think I was going for a slight swim.
You can open a Cherokee door from the pilots side. The lack of a pilot side door may have been a factor in that logic. I wouldn't put it in the water if I couldn't open the door before impact.
There is also the matter of passengers you have some duty to protect. I wouldn't judge the actions taken, not being there myself. There is so little time to make a decision that doing what was briefed, or what you have already committed to is really the only option.Yikes...I wonder if they didn't see the guy? Personally if I couldn't find a spot on a beach where I wouldn't hit a person, I'd sooner put it in the water, and I can't even swim. I'm not trying to kill anyone, I'd rather possibly drown than deal with the guilt and litgations.
Or you can take swimming lessons.Yikes...I wonder if they didn't see the guy? PH has a pool. We could push him in.moxiepilot said:Or you can take swimming lessons.
Ain't nobody got time for that. Seriously, I can't even commit to taking a college class in person one day a week, my life is too cray and sporadic. I'll learn when I learn I guess. But the point is, I personally think I would risk my own life assuming my pax knew how to swim rather than risk some persons life on the ground. Just my thought process.Or you can take swimming lessons.
I'd rather risk my own life as opposed to someone else's, but we don't know the full story here.ChasenSFO said:Yikes...I wonder if they didn't see the guy?
