However, whoever is acting PIC, must have all three endorsements, and there has to be an acting pic, so therefore in order to "hop in it and fly" you need all three endorsements. That is unless you have someone with all three endorsements sitting next to you.

thread drift: It wouldn't upset me one bit if the FAA changed all this acting PIC vs logging PIC nonsense. If you are the acting PIC you can log it, if not, tough crap.
 
When I made my transition, Ins. required SimCom, and 50hrs dual. I made the hop at about 500TT. It is such an easy a/c to fly and accident rates are relatively low, so its pretty easy to insure.
