Piedmont pilots read now

We will be losing 11 DHC8-100's this year. Check the comppany website for details. That is a fifth of our fleet fyi...

Thats a huge reduction. Any idea on what routes are going to get cut?

I know some were speculating that Airways was going to get rid of the Mesa dash flying. I guess not.

Damn JACE.. guess you didn't get your wish, did ya?

And you work for who?

Piedmont pilots make more their first year to fly no more than 37-50 pax around in a turbo prop than any of your FOs do, whether they're flying the Dash 8, 200, 700, or 900.

Come 2nd year pay, the FO's make the same as all the Mesa jet drivers do and smoke the Turbo prop rates. What your FO's make in the Dash are an embarrassment to this industry. I'm not even going to get into comparing contracts because Piedmont's is much better. Not sure there's one thing in your contract that is better than Piedmonts.

Possible scenario....Bye-bye old Dashes...uh-oh....here come furloughs.....wait a sec, we might be able to secure some Qs.....we'll figure out a pay rate later....

;-) This would be the cliche' scenario.

I'm certain PDT has already negotiated large TP rates. Although, I think there may have been some caveat about having the airframes on property by a certain date or the rates became null and void.

Perhaps a PDT person can confirm or deny this???

(10 days off per month, stand up overnights, what? never heard of that!)

Neither have I, and I'm a bottom of the list reserve pilot! Whoa! You mean it's not really as bad as people who've never set foot on property make it out to be?!?!

And for the rest of you who think my comment is out of line, you probably don't notice all the Mesa bashing and "pro-PDT take over Mesa flying" that Jace likes to do.

I never once bashed Mesa. I was just throwing out ideas and possibilities about PHX flying.

And I've never once bashed PDT. Just said this sucks, and that it wasn't what you were wishing for. Anyone have any idea how many this could put on the street? Will it affect you, Jace, or anyone else on JC?

whew,
I think I misunderstood too. It does suck indeed. If that happens at the other US wholely owned, I am toast.

Oh boy. Good luck. Watching planes leave is never a joyful experience. . .at least for a majority of us. Just watch out, you might get some uber long Q's contigent on removing more planes, then someone will rejoice and be all happy - while a certain percentage of your pilot group is pounding concrete.

Best of luck Piedmonsters.

As for me, I'm not sure how it'll effect me. I'm assuming I'll still hold a line. I am about in the dead middle of FO seniority in base and just below the middle of FO seniority in the entire company.

YOu were almost toast with no reductions..... Be glad you still have your gig unlike half of the other part of your class. I am positive you dont mean it to come out that way but keep in mind the others of us who read this. Who already got the door....

Wow some more ###### news!:banghead: Suck for you Piedmont guys. Wholly owned's are fodder for domestic reduction in this downturn.:(
