Piedmont - 8 Recalls Possible

Good news on the recalls.

However if some of you are hoping to make the Airline Pilot Forum a free "flightinfo", just send me an email and I'll pay for that subscription for you.

Up up up! Shh! I don't care how you feel, that's how we're going to roll. :)

Meyers flamed the heck out of a guy who simply said "not enough to bring me back". Doesn't look like brotherly love to me.

Meyers, expressjet didn't recall enough to bring me back. You can PM me your opinions on that statement.

Clocks I am simply saying that RECALLS for a carrier is a positive no? We can sit back and put a pitty parade on it or we can be happy to have movement towards a positive trend and putting more pilots back in the cockpit and into a job? And then thus the next round of recalls would mean those below are even closer to getting a "Welcome back letter." But then again when I was furloughed I looked at that situation as a glass half full instead of empty approach that seem to tick a lot of people off as well... So I guess in the end there is no way to win around here during such down times......

At the end of the day PSA, AWAC, PDT, Comair (not furloughing even more and bringing very few back), and now PDT bringing pilots back on property mean fewer on the street... And thus I thought that was a good thing for not only the ones getting called back but those whom have fewer pilots between them and the last active pilot on their list......

Ba-dang.

ASA sensitive pilots.

PSA/PDT sensitive pilots.

My oh my.

Is there a specific point you have with this or are we trying to breed malcontent on the forum?

I know times are tough in aviation, but the negative karma isn't going to improve things.

*Sigh* Shakes head...I admit it Doug..It's all my fault because I started posting again. So that being said, everybody go ahead and randomly blame me, because we have to blame someone right? And being a malcontent gives me a tougher rep...LOL

I'm joking of course to lighten the aire in here.

I like eggs!

Poached are delicious, but even just basic egg whites, fried flat are yummy too. :)

There so much industry angst man, it's almost like we should exhume the corpse of Kurt Cobain and Blind Melon's Shannon Hoon and have them write the sound track for the industry.

Nah man, not at all.

Just was continuing the narrative that was started prior - to relax - utilize calm, soothing breathing techniques. People are getting all sensitive for no damn reason.

Ya know, that would probably win a grammy...Hey, if Jurassic park could bring back dinosaurs then....huh huh? Great idea right?

Okay, one of our FOs just got a call from Piedmont management today offering him a recall date of February 10th. Woohoo!!! I am not sure what the exact figure is for the pilots being recalled, but I will let you know as soon as I get something official. It seems a little odd to bring someone back in the middle of the month and not at the beginning, but okay.

This is great news. If the PHX thing doesn't work out then hopefully the Pref hiring at Eagle does for everyone else. Just a few more years til 65 kicks in and then eeeeeverything will change.

Honestly speaking, for at least the bottom half of the furloughees, a move and job at Eagle would be almost like getting called back at PDT, except going to first year pay again would be a hard pill to swallow. At least their base structure is better.... MUCH better. Tough choice, do that, and dump the pay, or hope to be recalled in the spring... to be furloughed again in the fall. :laff:

Wow, the email said first quarter, they didn't waste any time, huh? I guess two of your DS's favorite FOs will be back, eh ;) I saw his favorite FA in LGA the other day, I almost called him but I didn't have an hour to hear the latest drama.

Congrats, if you're not in the 8, you're 8 closer.

Das right, 50 more, woo hoo! I shouldn't joke, soon I may actually have to get up and go to work again.

I'll be interested to see more details on the pref. hiring thingy. I was kinda surprised to see that in the email. I mean, there are plenty of airlines with people that have been on furlough :dunno: Kudos to GS for trying to work something out, though.

Consider this as well, as a TP driver there is high probability you will end up on the ATR...Dude! The A..T..R....You may as well be a PDT lifer.

There is actually a much higher probability that you would end up on something other than the ATR if you decide to go to Eagle.
