Hours of and hours of open sea. If you're lucky you might even see water! :)

Nice shots. How was the hotel?

The ice shelf pic is awesome.
Tapas...yum!
FO #2 looks a little jaundice, was he feeling okay?

Come to think of it, the captain looked a little jaundice as well. Eek! I might need to get myself checked out...

A lot shorter than it was supposed to be! I think about 19 hours or so?

That is called the "Kilometro(Kilometer) zero", all the roads of the radial system (like spokes in a wheel, Madrid being the center) are measured beginning at that exact point.

If you look at the picture, you'll be able to see "KM 0", that legend in the red part says "origin of the radial roads"

Thanks!

Madrid was so friendly and fun! :) Gotta take Mrs. Taylor there!

You're welcome :).

You were there for 19 hours, and you loved it, imagine when you go next time ,and stay a few days.

The next time you go, please give me a call, and I'll tell you things that you must see, and above all...... things that you must eat. :)

Next time, make sure you eat "callos a la Madrilena", and go see Picasso's "Guernica".

I did a ten-day business trip to Spain a few years back and had a great time. The wife (my wife not TheWife) are working on plans for a vacation there, maybe next year.

Next time you are in Madrid, make sure to get some Jamon Serrano and try the suckling baby pigs. The suckling pigs (cochinitos) sounds gross, but I have to admit that they are definitely money!

Try to hit up a Flaminco show too. Nothing will make the hair on your arms stand up like when you got some guy playing the hell out of a guitar and sounding like Islam prayers with his singing....and some beautiful woman on stage in a big polka dotted dress, stomping the piss out of the floor. :)

Doug was right, Madrid is awesome... took his advise and went to the mushroom house and dang, those were some tasty mushrooms! Also went to the Bull Bar (also in Plaza Mayor) where they hang the heads to honor all the bull's that won in the bull fights (by winning it means the bull fighter didn't fair so well!) We also went to a bar/resturaunt and were served by Don Juan! (His name tag even said it! ;) )

Anyway, here's a few shots my my field trip around town:
1.) Sideways buildings near the hotel
2.) Bank of Spain
3.) Independence Plaza
4.) Some old Palace ruins in Madrid's largest park

When you get back over to Madrid you have to make sure you take a drive through Casa de Campo.

Oh, make sure you do it around 21:30-23:00. :)

Well, actually don't, but ask anyone who lives in Madrid and you'll get the joke! :rotfl:
