I think of philosophy because I'm actually studying it, unlike yourself. If you are, I suggest you either drop the program or move to a better program because you ain't cuttin' it so far bro.

Edit: Don't mean to sound too harsh, but the only thing I've seen you do is come on here and slam the profession that we are all tryin gto break in to, trying in some weird and sick way that it's alright to fly for free and that hours in the logbook it payment enough. Thanks, but no thanks dude.

Nice to meet you, too, John. Yes, I try actually to think, on occasion. Some people even pay me to do so. You seem very interested in my background, so ok, I'll spill. Can you believe, gee-golly, I was even on the law review, believe it or not? And wow, it was a top ten law school. And oooooh, I've studied at both undergrad and grad levels not only econ, but also philosophy, lit, physics, calculus (yes, through ordinary and partial differential equations)...hmmm what else would you like for me to trot out on parade before you to prove my worth? I fly. I love it. That doesn't mean I have to stop thinking.

I've re-read everything many times, John. I'm refreshed. I'm lucid. My perspectives here have been basic enough, reasonable enough and well-enough articulated that I can only conclude failure to comprehend them (not agree with them....just comprehend them) to be the result of either willful refusal or mere incapacity. Either way, it's really not worth my time to flog it any more. Too many cupcakes and "n00bs" involved now, I'm afraid. I have been requested to stop. So I will. Cheers.

You know I was tempted, after reading the preceeding display of oneupsmanship - not to mention the whole section on how your mental prowress is so far superior to all of us lowly pilots - to say that 'ya know ... there is a reason lawyers make some of the worst pilots ... sometimes they A) think too much b) can't get over the fact someone else may know more than them on certain subjects and hence discount or outright ignore valid opinions/advice that can/could save them a boatload of trouble, or their life.

But, then I thought that might be a tad too harsh and maybe even uncalled for so I decided not to say it.

I will say this though, one of the key factors to learning is recognizing and understanding one's own shortcomings whatever they may be.

I don't know how other lawyers fly. I tend to think their abilities measure in direct proportion to the size of the tips they gave their CFIs (I know mine do, at least....I keed, I keed

) I do know, however, that certain of your implications do not apply to me. I never second-guessed my CFI. Not once. Ever. I understood almost immediately that I didn't know squat about flying compared to him, and thus soaked up his instruction like a dry sponge -- took it all to heart with 100% acceptance and respected the hell out of him more than just about any one else I've ever met. Did I ever hear anyone "challenge" him? Yep. Did I ever hear him lose his cool or go into attack mode on anyone? Nope. He calmly, coolly, professionally listened, responded, engaged...learned...taught. That's mature, developed discourse. I tried.

Then, go to court. Fight the power! You'll lose, and you'll be out that money too.
