Picking up a new jet for @dpapilot

Some more photos from the museum. We went on a tour of the 330-900 final assembly line and saw some really interesting things lead by a Airbus rep, but we were unable to take photos as the were (in a French accident) "forbidden", expect by the private photographer. So I should have some photos eventually.

Fun fact, Airbus Industries was was on the early ventures of a newly formed "EU" where everyone would have a little "skin" in the game to create a flying autobus, hence the "Air Bus". Staring with a 300 passenger airplane and called it the A300 (300 pax). Couldn't find a powerplant so they settled for a 250 passenger aircraft and titled it the A300B variant.

There's a whole different story about why numbering goes A300/320/330/340/380 THEN 350 but I'll talk about that when I get the FAL photos.

Those aren't shrimp! Ha!

Crevettes = Shrimp
Langoustine = Squat Lobster

I've eaten them but have no idea what Langoustines are supposed to cost. But this is one of those fine food markets and I don't think the good people of Toulouse pride themselves on cheap prices.

I’ve seen langoustines for sale (and bought them of course) on the US east coast from time to time. Not sure if i ever saw them out west. Quite good

Looks like a hell of a place derg! I’m probably more excited about this market than i am about the airbii, though those are cool too (especially the A300 museum piece)

Is this "work" or is this just some fun thing Southernjets is doing? Looks like fun, enjoy!

Not work. I won somewhat of a SouthernJets version of the “lifetime achievement award” where they fly you to Toulouse, wine and dine you for several days, private tours and no expense spared trip (literally). Then you have some small group (like maybe four others at your restaurant but they reserve a handful) with some senior VPs from SouthernJets before you wine and dine again the last morning and bring back a factory fresh Airbus 330 or 350 after the check clears.

So tomorrow we go back to the Airbus factory for a big breakfast reception, too much champagne and we get to go do a crawl-through of our new 330-900 with the engineers. Big delivery party, load up the aircraft and head back to the US where they’re basically going to tear it all apart again and prepare it on the line.

I’m literally 20 pounds fatter now
