Phony degree.

The testimonials are priceless:

"I use my Degree ( a Doctorate) as a dating ploy. I had good quality calling cards professionally printed and I always present them on being introduced to anyone. Often, I simply introduce myself to a lady I find attractive and offer the card saying that I would like to meet her for dinner at some future date, if she is amenable. More often than not, I receive a call."

My father was recently diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. He and I had never been close. And he was never really satisfied with my choice of careers. I wanted to go back to college and finish my degree, but I never had the time. Once I got the news about his condition I knew it was too late to finish my degree before the inevitable. Then a friend e-mailed me a link to instantdegrees.com. In five days I was holding my degree. The look of joy on his face when I showed him I had finally made it was priceless. The money I spent on my degree was nothing compared to the joy it has brought to me and my family.

From their FAQ page....the sad thing is that there are people who actually believe this crap

Who is really smarter?
You are the one called to the front of the queue in airports; you are the one getting the free upgrade to first class; you are the one sitting at the good table not too near the band overlooking the river; you are the one dazzling your future employers with your skills and abilities at an interview rather than having your Résumé ditched by a computer programmed to scan all applications and send rejection slips to perfectly capable applicants who happen not to have a degree; The benefits are endless. The degrees available thru us are obtained thru the exploitation of legal loopholes, but legally that does not make them of any less worth of a "worked for" degree. In the final analysis, the LEGALITY of a degree is ALL that LEGALLY matters.

I didn't see on the site; is there a place where I can buy a long-form birth certificate?

"Critics. Why you should ignore them

You must not forget that your degree is obtained by exploiting legal loopholes.

Critics have NO LEGAL argument. Our security protocols reduce the probability and impact of negative publicity, but we cannot remove the threat altogether. In the event that the institution you have graduated from is the target of such comments you should frankly, ignore it. Opinions of this nature (usually made anonymously or by people with very questionable histories involved in non-traditional degree granting institutions) carry NO legal weight whatsoever. "

Psst. Hey. Hey, buddy. How'd you like an ATP? I mean, really, how close are they gonna check? I can even put your picture on it! Type ratings are $30 extra per. PM me!

More than likely it's going to become evident you don't have an ATP the moment you step in the simulator. What isn't going to be evident in any simulator or cockpit is your lack of degree in liberal arts.

Funny all the negativity in this thread. There are pilots flying right now that have likely gotten hired on the basis of exaggerated numbers in their logbooks and yet nobody cares because the hours are based on an honor system.

In other words, experience directly related to the job (flying planes) is taken on the honor system, but don't you dare lie about having a liberal arts degree!

How is that not completely backwards?

Good god, man, are you seriously trying to defend buying a phony degree? I thought maybe that you were asking a hypothetical question at first; now I'm just really perturbed that you're serious about this!! Just don't do it. You WILL be caught somehow/somewhere by someone, and then things will hit the fan very badly for you. Think about it, and USE that gray matter contained within your skull.

Moreover...it's EASILY noticeable who has a degree and who doesn't. People that have attended some kind of advanced schooling behave themselves calmer and have a more thoughtful demeanor than somebody who only finished high school. It's noticeable!
