Phenom 100 crash in MD

thats like double the seats isn't it? witness telling of wobbling wings and trying to pick up the nose and dropping again

So sad! GA certainly has had a rough couple of months in the DC area.

As far as GAI goes, there's not much other than trees and houses on the north side of the field, so if they had an issue, there aren't a whole lot of great places to go.

Another site posted the CTAF clip. They made a three mile call then pattern traffic says they were short about three seconds after the three mile position report.

Audio on LiveATC.net. Sounds like it may be a bird(s) strike.

I was over that area when someone reported they were picking up an ELT. I checked my watch, as I always do when I hear this, and the time was just after 1100. I said to my coworker "perhaps someone is testing it longer than they should" and continued eating my salad. Appears I was wrong. My heart sank upon reading the news. RIP

In the pictures I've seen there are two cars in the driveway.

This makes you want to vomit. :(

A stay-at-home mom and her two young children have not been located. A third child went to school Monday morning and is safe; the father of the family also was not home at the time of the crash.

Pattern turn (downwind/base) or more likely base/final. With eye witness description, it sounds like a stall/spin in pattern during turn. Not the first time it's happened, and it certainly won't be the last.

RIP to the family killed in the house, they had nothing to do with the flight.
