PDT not furloughing?

So perhaps I'm an internet junkie. But just read that PDT soon to be furloughs just got a call and were told they are not being let go. So they lose planes, and have less then we do at PSA, more pilots and still are not furloughing? I'm glad to hear but I was under the impression I got my job back due to PDT loss of flying. I guess those whom were saying such things can no longer say that. Any truth PDT guys?

The rumors are true! No furoughs at least through fall, though Sept-Oct will be tight. CP said Airways is asking for some large numbers through summer -is the same happening at PSA?

Thought I overheard something about more recalls at AWAC in the crewroom, any truth to that? I assumed Phoenix was asking for more flying from everyone. With the economy and sure-to-be-higher gas prices who knows why.

Guess I have to study for recurrent after all!

I dont know. I know for a fact mainline still is suppose to bring on 4 A330's and like 20 A320s still by the years end. I just wish we'd bring some mainline guys back. That'd be nice for both PDT/PSA.

This is great news! I just read the FIL on the CP's section of the website.

Next month the LGA-BGR route has returned (AWAC was doing it for a while) and we will begin doing HPN-DCA flights.

HPN-DCA is an AWAC route right now too.

Our IAD - HPN flights are always full.

word on the sby street is this is basically a reward for blowing the iosa or whatever audits out of the water. 0 rec's for inflight 0 for training 6 flight dept. "the best express operation we have seen." who'd of thunk?

i cant believe how full they are. it is odd to me that united hasnt tried to put bigger planes on the route.

Yea, I am surprised they cut back the flight to 3 a day, instead of 4. They havent put a bigger aircraft on the route, and that they havent put a "nicer" aircraft on that route.

when i was down there a few weeks ago i did the late night flight and we had to turn away. i was shocked! i have yet to do that but on that route.

the plane flow should be the other way i would assume. hey jace i think i saw you in albany about a week ago. maybe?

As happy as everyone is that folks get to keep their jobs - it is completely unfair to call this a reward, even if that were the case.

In a company which has produced little more than one bit of bad news after another for the past decade, this is just cancelled bad news thats all.

You are correct, it is absolutely unfair for them to call this a reward. Years of hard work by our flight crews have resulted in nothing more than shrinking fleets and quality of life issues. But people will be keeping there jobs for at least a few more months, cancled bad news or not, it is still good news.
