PlaneSense (Alpha Flying) is continually looking for PC12 FOs (yes it's SIC time due to the regs). PlaneSense will be the launch customer for the Grob SPN, with 25 signed orders spaced over the next 5 or 6 years, the announcement was made yesterday at NBAA. Flow through from left seat PC12 to right seat SPN.

Anyone have an idea on pay?

I'm assuming they are operating under part 135 so they have op-specs stating that they require an SIC...?

Seems like an interesting opportunity. I've always wanted to fly the PC-12 and the Grob looks like a cool airplane to move into.

AF is an awesome operation. We have, on average, 5 pilatus land every day from AF. This is at an uncontrolled field on the outskirts of a large metropolitan area.

EVERY pilot I have talked to likes the QOL, pay and bene's. They are hiring all the time (about 5 per month)

I talked with them a few minths ago and they said they operate under part 91K. First year is like 27,000 don't know about second year.
I might consider leaving my airline job if they have really good benefits and if they opened a base in the west.
sounds like a good company

I have a few more questions:
Is there any way to commute or do you have to live at the base cities?
How many hours per month approx?
Per Diem?
Days off per month?
Reserve if any?

Right now the schedule is 6 days on 4 off. Averaging about 500 to 700 hours per year. Bases are PSM (main company base, all the aircraft are based in PSM) PDK and FXE. Pilots must live within 2 hours of one of those bases. Per Diem, $2 per hour for every hour away from home base. Hotels and rental cars are paid for. No reserve time. Right from training to a normal line schedule of 6 and 4.

EVERYONE is hired into the right seat of the PC12, no matter how many hours you have. We have B-52 pilots sitting right seat. Upgrade times are based on min hours of 1500TT and merit, there are no seniority numbers.

Mins to be hired: 500TT (1000TT ish is better) and commercial instrument. Your instrument skills have to be very sharp to be hired on.

That seems like a really bad idea...

It's a great idea, like any other job outside of aviation if you do well you'll move up. The only places that use a number system are the 121 carriers and the deli in the supermarket. And as far as I can tell it only works well at the deli.

I've heard nothing but good things about Alpha Flying. If I lived near there bases I'd apply. It should be interesting to watch as the company grows, I'm hoping they do well. The Alpha pilots I've met say they get taken of pretty well, seems like a good employer to work for.

Wow, I heard that Grob rumor quite a while back from someone I knew at Alpha... I'm impressed that it actually happened.

I've seen those planes at Savannah, GA when I was there. Also I've seen them at Shelbyville, TN doing approaches. I've always wondered whose planes those were.

Ive been thinking about this place also but no flight bennies to get home, bases are pretty expensive places to live (im from the midwest where an entire house rents for 500/month), and the biggest problem is its all single engine time. If or when you want to move on itd be very hard to find a job in corporate, airline, or cargo without twin time.

On the flip side Ive met a few of these crews and all of them love it. They say flying for them is like going on vacation every other week.

Concur. I met a crew here in Houston a few "time periods" ago. Yes, they appeared happy with their jobs.

he means no jumpseat agreement or CASS....which equals no free rides on another airline :( I am also ready to leave a regional and Alpha is high up on my list!
