Its funny because one of my friends went ahead and did that. He said he just felt so awful that day. I would too!! :(

Yeah I am paying for everything myself as well, I just take out max government loans and then I have to take commercial loans for my flight expenses. My two goals are to never get any credit card debt, and just make enough money to pay all my living expenses and some books and supplies. Yeah its gonna be really rough when I graduate and am making less than 20 grand a year with ridiculous monthly loan payments, but I knew that when I started so..

I did it. Worked, saved money. Now I am starting training. I don't owe a damn dime to anyone. You can do whatever you want, you are the one that will be paying this crap until your 45 not me. Its a little tough to pay those huge student loans on 1st and 2nd Year FO Pay.

Forget about him I wanna know the illegal ways too ;)

I was in the same boat. Poor a$$ parents, no hope of anything. But my short stint in the AF is paying off super!!!

First of all, the Air Force's 100% tuition assistance got me my B.S. from Embry-Riddle for only the cost of books!!! Also, a bonus A.A.S. in heavy Acft maintenance to boot! That was a default from technical school.

Then there is the G.I. Bill, which is a bucket full of $36K. I had to take out pretty sizable student loans to cover the up front costs. But after my PPL, the VA has faithfully reimbursed me for 60% of my flight training costs, including examiners fees! (had to search for that loophole!)

Also, I was lucky enough to find a foreclosed house for WAY under market value!!! Once I sell that, I can pay of the measly 40% left of flight training, and all by the time I finish my 6 enlisted years!

So even if you don't wish to fly for the military, which is a pretty big commitment! Think about it! I was given a HUGE blessing!!!

Hope this helps!

DO NOT get rid of your native state license plates. You can at least keep some of your identity with your car. :)

Yeah this is what they look like... I was gonna do this plate if I were to get ND plates... but I dunno, maybe I should be more incognito in case yet another North Dakotan calls the cops on me for driving Californian...

I used to get buffalo burgers when I'd fly to Catalina Island...one time with my dad... and then went on a couple dates there... together in a 152...single engine 35 miles over the ocean to get to the island...*oh fer cute*!

They have buffalo that roam free on that island. Buffalo were placed there for a movie in the 1940's or something and they've since stayed. They don't use that buffalo for the meat though! The restaurant owner said they get it from Colorado.

Here's what final approach looks like... very high cliff that drops off into the ocean.

:D would fly the Seneca to Palm Springs a few times for a quick dinner, then fly back to Diego. Scenery was great. Remember I told you about the autopilot mishap coming back from Palm Springs? :D oh that was scary.
