Passed AFOQT

Last week I had to retake the AFOQT after failing the verbal section last summer. Tonight I recieved my scores and am proud to announce that I passed! My UPT package has been submitted with my ANG unit in WV for C-5/ C-17 (they announced the day after I submitted my package were getting the C-17). I should be getting an interview in the May-June timeframe and im relieved that I got the passing scores and wont have to worry about pulling my package.

Just wanted to share my great news!

Congrats on passing! I will warn you though, passing in some of the sections (15) means that you were worse than 84% of other test takers. You'd be surprised at the scores of competitive candidates for Guard/Reserve/OTS slots. 90s in Pilot/Nav. and usually above 70s in the others. Best of luck on the TBAS!

With that said, if you've made a good name for yourself in the unit as an E, you shouldn't have any problems!

Im currenly a crew chief. The past 3 years I was an FCC and flew over 1200 hours so the guys that fly know me and my passion to fly

That helps more than anything in the Guard and Reserve. I hear the Guard more so than the reserve. Good luck. After crewing C5s you could use a break (read flying.)

A crew chief/FCC on C-5s? You DEFINITELY had your work cut out for you then! :)

In that vein, how were you able to fly 1200 hours on a C-5.....have you been in 30+ years? :D :D

[I know, I know....bad joke....]

yeah its been quite a career thus far! Being an FCC on the C5 is for the most part a pain but overall it was a great experience and I wouldnt trade it for anything, other than a set of wings of course :D
