Parking - CAK, PIT or CLE

Where's the good (*ahem* cheap) places to park at CAK, PIT or CLE for the cheapskates like me?

Why park?? How long do you need to stay? AKR is close to CAK and if you get fuel they will not charge you to park. Depending what you are flying (what are you flying?) could assist. I can park at G-Force at CAK for no fee (just a trouble getting off airport after hours) if I need to, but that is because they work on my aircraft. That is my backup if weather is bad enough that I need an ILS when I get back into town.

I'm not flying through all the time. They airline me to/from the plane so I'll be there for 8-10 days at a time. I'd like to avoid the lots because that's $70 (give or take) every "tour".

Needs to be something with decent transportation if possible since the boss man seems to enjoy putting me on the late flights back home.

So you're talking about places to park your car?

Why not park at an FBO, I am sure they would be able to give you a lift over to the terminal for the price of a tip.

Sorry thought you wanted to park your plane.

I agree with parking at the FBO, I am guessing your plane is parked at one. They shouldn't have a problem with you parking a car there as they are getting paid to park your plane. You also will want to put a business card in your driver side window for contact information. I actually do that with the plane too so if they need me for something they have my cell phone.

Good Luck.

Who at CAK handles your bird?

I know Landmark at PIT has said "no", I'll have to check with Atlantic at CLE and Ultimate at CAK.

We're not necessarily parked there. For example...today. Plane is at FRG. I'm headed to PIT to catch SWA to ISP to grab a rental car to FRG. Rather than have the wife drive me down or pay $90 in parking, I was hoping there'd be some sort of lot somewhere or maybe someone knew of a hotel that would even do the "shuttle for tip" thing that I know a few do.

If we're there (plane), then absolutely I'll park my car there. More often than not, that isn't the case since we don't have a "base".

Normally in CAK, Ultimate takes care of the bird. Atlantic in Cleveland and Landmark (at least I think it's a Landmark) in PIT.

Check with the local hotels that have park and fly. Normally you get free parking by spending the night before your flight. I have met people near CLE going to DET and the hotel lets us leave it there for $5. They do want you to let them know, pay, and give plate number as they do actually watch your vehicle.
