Palm Beach International Airport to be Renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport DJT

checks are still a thing?

I've written only 2 checks in the past decade and they were for mortgage down payments...my bro just bought a house last year and it was all via an app. (which most of mine was also)

*editors note* not a hit on Waco, I like him, just merely pointing out odd s***
Checks are still a thing, I cashed one last week at the bank of the company that gave it to me. I have a checkbook but I rarely use it and never carry it. But sometimes checks are required, when I receive a check I go directly to the bank on the check and cash it, then I'll deposit it at my bank. Hard currency negates shenanigans. If I trust someone then a check is okay, otherwise it's cash or a wire transfer. The internet killed an entire segment of aviation that produced some of our finest current pilots. You know who you are.

Back on LI my water bill was check or cash only. Very annoying. My flight club too.

@Boris Badenov you have any thoughts regarding this?
I mean probably the same thoughts as you. Seems like sclerotic government just motoring along as it always has due to the various wheels and levers which should probably have made "pay online" possible, eh, what, 20 years ago being enmeshed in a public-disservice system which is essentially unaccountable to normies. I'm assuming that's what you were kinda thinking. If so, no argument, here.

Where I might expand upon what I think you're suggesting: These maddening, stupid, inefficient frustrations aren't causes, they're reflections of our ever-deepening divide(s), and our inability (or unwillingness) to talk to each other. Is it intransigent public-sector waste and mismanagement? Yes. Is it relentless, crushing, penny-pinching late-stage Capitalism with no eye to any actual production or future past the next quarterly results? Also Yes.

Tbf, I never had a water bill above $60 on LI and that was with irrigation. So if not having online bill pay meant the cheapest water (other than well) I’ve ever had then I’d gladly keep writing checks
