Sorry for the delay in the write up of my CFI training. I wanted to pay it forward to other CFI candidates and write a review of the school I attended. After starting my training in the Northeast for my CFI initial. After maintenance delays and weather not cooperating, enough was enough and I decided the only true way to accomplish this rating was to head to south Florida. I did extensive research and found nothing but positive reviews on Palm Beach Flight Training in Lantana, FL. After attending one of the big name flight schools for the training up until the CFI. I shifted strategy to find a "mom and pop" FBO that did accelerated training. From the minute I made contact with the school I knew they would do the job. Marian, the owner immediately responded within twenty four hours of being contacted with all the answers to my questions. Immediately I knew this is where I wanted to do my training, as I did not get passed off or forwarded to an "admissions" representative. So I booked my plane ticket to Florida and Marian sent one of her instructors to pick me up at the train station. She arranged accommodations in the corporate apartment located a short distance from the school. I highly recommend you stay there as it gives you exposure to other students. I met a fellow student and friend from Barbados there. We helped each other to accomplish each other's rating and it gave me a chance to practice teaching. The equipment at Palm Beach Flight Training is top notch, with top of the line avionics. Maintenance quickly handles any maintenance issues, I had a discharge on the ammeter on one of the planes I was dispatched and maintenance had the plane back up and flying the next day. Dispatch always had my plane ready for the time I was scheduled, never was delayed or inconvenienced. Far as the instructors, I was paired with one of the best instructor I have ever flown with in any of my 7 ratings I have achieved this far. He didn't just train me to pass a check ride, he trained me to be a confident safe CFI. I did not leave till after Thanksgiving and my CFI personally invited me into his home with his family to celebrate the holiday. I cannot say enough about the operation or the CFI who made me feel like family not just a number and a dollar sign. The instructor flew with me 7 days a week until I had what I wanted to accomplish in my pocket. They also do Bahamas rentals, that is the only regret about my time in Lantana I did not take that opportunity to do the Bahamas checkout but I hope to be back soon to cross that off the list.

Very cool! I also used to teach there a few years ago... Marian always treated me right, and I had a lot of fun there. My buddy D.T. Is still there, maybe you saw him.
