Pain below rib cage on left side

This usually happens when I'm lying down. It doesn't hurt that much but it's quite uncomfortable. Any idea what it might be?

From the little bit of research I did there are many possibilities. It is not really pain though, but more of a discomfort.

I_Money, I will take your $20:laff:

It is most likely the ends of the cartilage at the rib ends being pushed together. Common problem but I can't be sure without an exam.

Well I am still up $20 from my last bet. I thought a significant number of people had that, so most unaccounted for pain in the left ab was presumed to be it.

Maybe I should go to online medical school before I make online diagnosis!

I think that I get the samething from time to time. I get it when I stand too long mostly. Webmd says it is flank pain, laying down seems to help actually!

I swore someone said "hypochondriaccentral.com"... but I think you just said WebMD.com... sorry! It's my hearing! I've got turboprop ear!

Hey,hey...this was back when I had a kidney infection and thought I had gout.

I know not to self-diagnose. After all when I had a bad case of the flu webmd said I had HIV!

I was simply saying what webmd stated it could be, flank pain!

But, I will admit that I can be somewhat of a rather huge hypochondriac!

:)

Okay just a word of advice:

Guys and gals, Dr. Forred is a wonderful doctor and aviation examiner. He helps us all the time and his help is invaluable, HOWEVER, please if you have a medical emergency see a doctor or call 9/11. I was chatting with my friend that one theres going to be a post about "i stabbed my stomach and am bleeding" because someone forgot got at just that, that this doctor is far away and cant actually help in a medical emergency.

Just a heads up! Anything crazy happens, call 911 - not JetCareers.com

Usually jetcareers is a fix to your problems..but it wont work as a 911 emergency situation.
