Pacific Wings?

Just wondering if anyone here has flown for Pacific Wings Airlines in Hawaii. I was looking at it today and it seems pretty interesting. I understand they are hiring "first officers" for their 208s and I was wondering if they pay you for this? If so, how much? Also, I see they offer you a Captain job afterwards and I was wondering if you were required to take it. My biggest concern is logging the hours. Obviously the 208 is single pilot 135 and you wouldn't be able to legally log that time while it's operating as such. Thanks for the help!:yar:

They are Part 121 I do believe. They just got a couple EAS routes in New Mexico, I guess they are trying to stick it to JO a little bit.

Dude, its been discussed here before. Basically, you throw bags for them and occasionally sit right seat in a Caravan! You can come sit right seat in my Seminole and even wear the uniform and make announcements.

I'm going to hold you to it! And only if I can wear the uniform and make the announcements.:rawk: :sarcasm:

I have two buddies out there that love it.
If you are deadset on just flying and getting to the left seat of a jet as soon as possible its not the place for you obviously.
But you get to live in Hawaii and fly which for some people is awesome.

I know 2 people out there also. They're "surfer dudes" (and "dudettes") so they'd obviously be attracted to Hawaii, despite the crap pay. Are we thinking of the same people?

MKK? molokai is rediculous, they started these $29 dollar flights and they allow the pax to check 3 pcs of luggage each. well MKK pax are mostly locals and they take their coolers too and from HNL, each one ways like 40-50 lbs and they usually arnt sealed well so when you have to put them in sideways to fit in the pod they leak crap all over. also there isnt anyone working the counter in MKK so the pilots have to load and unload bags for 9 people and check everyone in. the flights are always full. its basically a cattle drive. oh and management gives you 15 minutes to turn a plane around there by yourself, i really feel bad for the captains when they have to do it by themselves, there is no way to stay on time. on a typical day a crew or captain will fly in there like 5 times and each time you get later and later so you try to shorten any lunch breaks or layovers you might have to try and be not so late.

LUP - Kalapapa is totally different... former leper colony just old patients live there now and they are the coolest and nicest people ive ever met. usually not many people fly in and out of there and its a cool airport. although alot of them need the wheelchair ramp and that can get difficult.

so thats molokai
