SO much to say, just don't care or to wore out to list all the reasons not to go but I can say I no longer need 10 minutes in the john in the morning it all comes out in 10 seconds or less since I got >>>> from this company. Just stay away and tell your friends to say not to PW and drugs they both will kill your career.

Friends don't let friends fly for Pacific Wings!!

I've read through many-o-threads about PW and the horrible rules, QOL, etc. But if you are a safe and legal pilot, I'm curious to how this will kill your career? Personally, I wouldn't work there for a number of reasons, but if someone chooses to go there, put in your time and get out, how will that kill your career?

Dude didn't you read anything? You can start from page 1 of this thread.
 
It will kill your career because after you have been there about 5 months just before you are due your raise and bonus they fire you and make some story up. I know I know they can't make a story up just like they can't fire me for attempting to Unionize but since you just ended up on a street you don't have cash for a lawyer to help you when they want 10 grand up front. So here you are in the interview room praying they just skip Pacific wings and now how are you going to tell them about this do you A. tell them the truth which won't check out when they ask Pacific Wings or B. tell them the story that Pacific Wings made up which makes you look bad and hope they tell the same story again. Either way you end up with a expensive hand shake of thanks for coming in and how about you try when your get more experience (a.k.a. when some other company hires you and you prove your self a good person who made a bad choice in companies past.) That is all if you still cant figure it out then maybe you should just go work at wal*mart and please stop flying.

Yes lets let this thing die but make sure it is searchable and don't let your friends go here if you like them I would even try to talk my worst enemy out of going here. I would like to see this thing die it pains me to see it every day.

I'll look into that. I'm sure it pays better.

But really, I've read the thread. I missed the part about them firing you after 5 months before a raise. Maybe I'm slightly oblivious and like to give the benefit of the doubt, but if they are firing pilots so frequently, I would imagine they wouldn't have enough to come in to replace all that are on the streets....

I worked with a pilot who flew for them. He only lasted 6 months out there.

1st, You are a FO on an overgrown 172.

2nd, The pay is pathetic. You can't survive in Hawaii for that pay.

3rd, They treat you like total crap, pushing you to break regulations consantly.

4th When you stand up for yourself they will fire you for some BS reason.

I am a close personal friend of nmineau and flew with him at PW, just think, why make life more complicated for yourself? If you are considering flying for Pacific Wings, Georgia Skies, Tennessee Whatever, or Kentucky Whatever: The people before you have had these kinds of reactions to their experience there, what makes you so special? You WILL have a crappy time and wish you hadn't made the choices that you did if you choose to go there. Just take the free advice on this great site, dont repeat the mistakes (or regrets) that the aviators before you have experienced.

Life is short and make the distance between your goals and present situation as short as possible, PW will complicate things and will not reap the rewards that you expect.

Because they're a company. That's the way it typically works with the FAA... until Airmen can start donating lots of money to politics/FAA officials, they're going to bear the brunt of the "self-disclosure" violation train.

It's really "this bad".
