Pa. Pilot Fires Gun While High on Drugs

So the guy loses his medical and gets fired. The system works as designed. Luckily he was caught before he could hurt anyone. I don't see what could be done to further restrict pilots that would prevent this. If anything it was his employer who failed to detect his addiction, probably by way of a lax and predictable testing policy.
 
How the &@$! do you go from being a Navy pilot to snorting heroin after work. I guess beer wasn't cutting it anymore. There's definitely something he's going through that made him screw up that bad. I hope he figures his crap out.
 
How the hell would you take urine to a drug test? At least where I go, they have some pretty strong standards on the procurement of the sample. Like valves turned off and secured with witness tape, temp reading etc. You would have to be a pretty handy guy. The only way would be a balloon up you know where.

That FedEx FE who tried to take over the -10 and fly it into the sort hub was an ex-Navy pilot.
 
What are the service requirements for flying in the Navy? If he left the Navy at 28 as a pilot there's more to this story, or the story itself is wrong.

He must have been kicked out before even getting winged, the requirement is 8 years after you get winged. It takes 2 to 3 years to get your wings so you are looking at 10 years min service obligation.

I've seen first hand the effects of drug use on what was once a good, strong, and decent person. It's unbelievably sad and shocking to observe how much they change.

I've heard stories, its a lot easier then you would think. Even in military tests where you're being watched, there are solutions out there if you can pull them off.

I think it would be pretty easy to get a sample into the testing center but at the right temperature? Not so much.

That's what I thought, too. But I won't be the one who shares it on the internet so some recovering heroin addict can get back on the white pony and fly a jet. :)

There is a temperature strip right on the cup. Currently I have to show at the testing center within one hour of a call. It would be pretty tough to get a refrigerated sample to the correct temp in that time frame. It's just easier to stay sober and as the news story demonstrates: drug users tend to hang themselves some other way. Even if they are a chemistry set wiz kid. Something I couldn't be bothered with.

Don't get me wrong I have plenty of pot smoking friends that I ride mountain bikes and surf with. All of them are more financially successful and have families. Im a bum that lives under a bridge and operates machinery. I'm not judging. Just stating fact. I'm sure we have all seen ads for the wizzinator, but I think there are very few who could pull it off.
 
Hmm you can Microwave the PEE... A few trials to figure out the time/power/pee volume settings to instantly bring it up to specs...:cool:
 
Holy F....I knew that guy from T-45's....think he winged shortly after me. Suffice to say there is a lot more to the story, and that's all I've got to say. Pretty sad and shocking update on the guy jeez

The first time I smoke a reefer was in campaign in the 90's in the middle of the jungle somewhere in planet earth!! Like any first timer I felt nothing and never did it again!! But my partner put his Walkman and listen to Jethro Tull... Shet!! thank god he didn't start shutting his M16

Once you figure out the settings:p , design a "underwear" with a container molded so the temperature matches the temp of your:D ..... you know what and Bingo !!:) Hmm maybe I can Patent the thermal piss preserver...:smoke:
