I am very happy with Westwind. Started my instrument training here, did great in the program (only repeated one out of nine prog checks), finished in the time allotted and have been a CFI here for 8 months. No complaints as I am building time as quickly as I think I could anywhere else. I think your attitude goes a long way. Turbinesurgeon, I have no idea what your situation was, but I don't think that is what most experience.

I have enjoyed reading all the posts. Concerning Westwind, their biggest problem is Jerry Dilk. My girlfriend an I met him. We were both concerned with many of his statements. Many to us just did not make sense. For example he told us if we missed a week of training it cost us up to $25000 with very little logic. We were impressed with his planes and operation.
I once heard a Captain talking to others that were interested in a career as a Pilot being told the key is the number of hours especially Multi Engine. This is because the airline will train their new pilots according to their specifications. I have talked to Eric Mullen who appears to have his head on and was very honest with us.
I was not all impressed with Pan Am I called to see about a tour of the Deer Valley Campus and never got a reply so we just walked in. We were given a tour by a senior instructor, but we just were not sold with their attitude.

I hear way moe negative stories then positive ones. I know people there and many of them were not happy with the cost of their training nor are they happy with the fact that they are a CFI with only one or two students. I talk to people all the time at the school I teach at that had a bad experience with WSA and or looking for a job.
