I can't wait to see what godforsaken airport in southern Arkansas my student ends up diverting us to.
 
tell him to go to Huntsville H34. I almost pissed my pants a couple of times when I went there.
 
Is this Instrument training? The student has to practice diverting?

Good practice - As they are PIC and have to make the judgement call. I'd be used to the CFI/DPE saying take me here, but better if the student calls the shots and then you can critique.

How late was it - did you need to turn the lights on?

Private. The diversion was a bit contrived, but I think he learned anyway.

You end up in KTXK often? Born and raised there, just moved from there 2 years ago to live the dream of a flight instructor in Houston.:laff:

Dude I've been in and out of TXK about 6 times in the last 4 months. Usually at night in the DA42.
