ORL area Pilots

His large aircraft is a 707 (4 engine), not a 737 (2 engine). There is one day a year that they have an open fly-in, but not sure when that is.

If you ever get the chance fly just south and east of OCF and you will come to Greystone. It is a private airport and you cannot land there, but it is John Travolta's house. You can see his 737 and Learjet sitting on the tarmac next to his house!!! Must be nice to be able to build your own 7500ft strip. By the way, I am in Deland(KDED).

Actually he didn't build it. It was already there. It is part of an airpark called Jumbolair and others live there too.

Sorry bout the confusion, I flew by only once, at about 5500MSL so I didnt get a good look. I just thought it was a 737. And on my sectional it is named Greystone. I dont see anything on there about JumboLair.

Hi,

I am flying at ORL right now for PPL. Tied down at Showalter ramp, N734QA, C172N. Any of you guys in Orlando or coming to Orlando, look me up. I used to fly with instructors from Air Orlando, but found a better home across the way. Also, everytime I got a 'new' instructor, he would get hired at an airline. Went through 3 in a month. I must be a good luck charm or something lol... Anyway, love to meet some other pilots here; lived her forever, but don't have ANY aviation related friends. (except my instructor)

George

4QA? Don't know that one. By across the way, do ya mean CAP Flying? That's about the only outfit that might have training involved with it (barring a freelance CFI with his own plane) on the Showalter side.

I was THIS close to going back to Air Orlando and trying to instruct, but the cost of living here in Arlington beats Orlando, esp on a CFI wage.

Hello,

New member here, been reading boards for about a month or so. I am a student pilot in Orlando, FL with 33hours towards my PPL. Night flight XC, some polish-up flights, the written, then checkride is on the horizon. I will be moving right into Instrument asap. Currently flying with Choice Aeronautical Academy. This is a one man operation, with 3 aircraft, based out of Showalter ramp. My instructor was an FAA examiner and has been flying since 1968. I am excited to have someone with so much experience. I have not decided on the future of schooling for me yet; originally planned on attending ATP at the Orlando location after PPL but my experience with my instructor has proven excellent, so I may continue with him. Well, so long for now.

George
