Original and E-logbook only for interview

Hey everyone,

Just to start off with before I jump into the title here, I wanted to give a quick background on myself. Currently I'm a CFI/CFII/ME pilot with about 1400TT, and 15 multi (which will be hiked up to almost 100 in 2-3 months). That being said, I currently have LogTen Pro for the Mac and iPhone and love them both. I plan to be applying to the airlines here relatively soon, as in 3ish months soon. However, I really have 2 questions.

1.) My original flight training logbook that I did for my PVT-Comm ASEL is a huge mess, thanks to my CFI's who whited spots out, crossed and scribbled times out, didn't initial the changes, etc... It looks like a white out and pen tornado went through it. On top of that the times are completely off. What do I do about this?

2.) I haven't been keeping a paper logbook because I have an e-logbook. Can I walk into an interview with JUST my LogTen Pro printed out in a nice binder, all pages signed, etc, or am I going to be one of those people someone else gouges about who got kicked out in 20 minutes because of the logbook?

Really, I just want to walk in as prepared as possible, paperwork set, etc... and not have to worry about more than I have to. Thanks for the advice/input ahead of time.

You shouldn't have a problem with walking in with just a print out of your LogTen logbook. Just make sure it is professional looking. I don't know what options LTP has for printing out, but if it's anything like LogBook Pro you can print in a Jepp style logbook with signature blocks on each page. Bring your original paper logbook with you in case they want to see it, but I'd guess at most places they will be fine with the print out copy.

What I would do is just print and bind your logbook from LogTen Pro, but also make sure you copy in your signoffs, endorsements, etc for a 'comprehensive' logbook for them to see. I just use my LogTen printout book and bring my original logbook which has my first 1,500 hrs and a few airlines' worth of time in it so they can see everything. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for the reply! LTP does have tons of options for logbook styles. ASA, Jepp, different countries, 8710, etc... As for my original training logbook what do I do with that one?

Keep it. It has a bunch of signoffs in there that you may need to show at some point in time. Just don't put it on the table at an interview unless they want to see it (or the signoffs in it).

Scan in the signoffs and keep them with your e-logbook. That's what I did. I can tell ya, the interview I went to, they didn't have a problem at all with my logbook printed from LBP.
