Anyone got info on Crash pads near ORD? Recommendations? Even looking into apartment ideas with some other pilots, but a pad would be cheaper obviously.

I have never done a crashpad in my years based there (stay with friends or hotel it) but there are LOTS of options. The Blue Line (train) runs between ORD and downtown with tons of options. Most crashpads I have heard of that are close the airport are off Rosemont, Cumberland, Jefferson Park or Montrose stops.

Yep, because the planned 66% increase in state income taxes makes a young pilot totally want to live in Illinois!

(As Gonzo said- when I was ORD based, I got hotels. Crunch the numbers- if you avoid too many overnights, it's way cheaper. Private, too.)

Agreed, Texas sounds much better with NO income tax.
