Orbis flying eye hospital DC-10, retiring to Tucson

I saw their DC-10 parked in Newark a few weeks ago. Pretty cool to see it in person. On an unrelated note, is this aircraft flown by volunteers? Or does Orbis actually have a compensated flight crew/crews for their MD-10?

I clicked on the careers section of their website just for giggles. The 300+ days per year travel schedule reminds me of my blimp days.

This is actually one of the better museums I've been to in terms of interaction. Unfortunately it's kind of in the middle of nowhere.

That place looks interesting indeed. Seems many of the nicer museums appear to be in middle of nowhere places. The museum at KMER, once the former SAC base Castle AFB, is an outstanding collection.......albeit, in the middle of California inland onion country.

I've lived in AZ for almost 30 years. Never made the trip down to the museum. Looks like I should.

What?!?! Next free weekend you have you gotta check it out.

Also check out the Titan Missile Museum. I went with the tour lead by a silo commander. Also well worth the time and money.
