Option to resign or be terminated...

True, however he's the one who posted it on the nosy pilots forum. Advice on whether or not he should quit or allow himself to be fired thus rests entirely upon whether or not this was a stupid pilot trick or an unavoidable incident. Either way, it's hard to say without having any context of the accident.

Hiring an aviation attorney is probably money down the drain, at $250 plus per hour what's he fighting for... there is no recourse for this on a wrongful termination suit in any at will state in this country. Even if he won he'd likely only cover enough to pay the lawyer, maybe. Best advice is if it was a stupid pilot trick and he should have spoken up, resign.. otherwise be fired.

That is an impressively built card house of logic there. I should go wake up the Beagle-mix so he can have a peek too. BRB

Sounds like you're trying to be nosy under the guise of giving "advice". Really bad advice at that.

Really? An actually lawyer or just a law teacher? How does one pass the Bar with such a poor understanding of the Constitution?

I see two possibilities:

1. A guy who went to the most prestigious law school in the country, served as the editor of it's law journal, passed the bar and practiced law, and taught constitutional law at another prestigious law school, doesn't know the Constitution;

OR, alternatively;

2. Some guy on the internet who's never been to law school and flies airplanes for a living doesn't know the Constitution as well as he thinks he does.

I know which I think is more likely!

Actually I did study the law in College, though I did not take it far enough for the Bar.

I chose instead to pursue a more respectable career :sarcasm: in aviation as a helicopter pilot.

"Respectable?" ;) :D

What the sarcasm tag wasn't enough? I like to go to bars and tell women I am a homeless beggar. If I tell them I am a helicopter pilot, they know I can't afford to buy them a drink. Although, homeless beggars = helicopter pilots? Naw the homeless beggars can at least afford coffee at Starbucks.

Reminds me of an old joke. Don't tell my mom I'm a helicopter/airline/corporate/charter/military pilot. She still thinks I'm a piano player in a • house.
