Open Skies, shot down!

We can't even get a light rail going in Florida. Then again, most of the kids in school here aren't doing that well on the FCATs. But, hey. That lottery should bring in a ton of money for education, right?

Yeah, there's even talk of ANOTHER outlet mall down here. Pretty soon, they'll just be "malls" since they'll all be outlets......
 
The Bullet Train has been bogged down by Disney Politics. (ick!)

Disney wants the state to pay for it all yet wants the main terminal to be on their property. Go figure.
 
Yeah, that whole thing is never gonna happen. They don't even want a station on their property if it stops at Citywalk or the convetion center. They want to go straight from MCO to Disney and nowhere else. Universal has offered to even PAY for their station at Citywalk.....
 
One thing I really don't miss about Florida is the political power of Disney.

I mean if you attempt to call 911 on Disney property, I hear, it gets filtered thru Disney security, how lame is that?
 
well, in a sense, they're their own govt in a sense, they have their own utilities, their own police and everything they need to get by without the rest of the world (except attendees to the parks).. so much probably happens there that we never hear about....

Let's see, if someone dies at Disney, they aren't pronounced dead until off property. They might have been dead for a while, but the paramedics will keep trying to revive them until they are out of those multi-colored gates. And yes, they do have they're own 911 service. Not sure how it works with cel phones, but it's hard enough to get a cel phone signal there anyway.
 
Kell I forgot about the City Walk debacle. Not to mention SeaWorld!

The big fight now is about Port Canaveral-MCO-various stops-Disney-US27-Tampa vs. MCO-Disney-Miami (I have no idea why they want to compete with the turnpike.)
