That's a bad day right there.

"Two airport security officers in Hong Kong were killed early Monday after a cargo jet arriving from Dubai veered off the runway during landing and slammed into a patrol vehicle, authorities said.

Both the car and the Boeing 747 – in what was Hong Kong’s worst airport disaster in decades – plunged into the sea though all four crew members on board managed to escape unharmed, officials said."

This scumbag airline smoked a 74 into Bishkek killing a bunch of people on the ground while contracting for Turkish Airlines. Turkish fired them and brought on Kalitta where I was working. We did the contract for a couple of years before we were deemed too expensive. (Kalitta…too expensive…let that sink in) They then fired us and went back to this same airline. This airline now smoked another 74 in killing someone on the ground. Sound business decisions.

I feel like that is very similar to what happened with this flight. Kalitta was doing it for a while.

Wind was gusting hard in HKG out of the northeast, and a light 744 weathervanes pretty hard. I hope it's not as simple as that, of course.

I doubt they could lowball us for the crazy s○○○ we did for the last Trump administration, at least.

Big planes (especially when light) have a tendency to wash out the rudder when going into reverse thrust. I assume the 747 handles similarly.
BlankCornholio has a reasonable description video on YouTube discussing weather and what not. He's not pointing fingers. Of all of the "aviation influencers" he seems to be the most measured.
