Wow where has the time gone? It seems just like yesterday that I was announcing the wife was pregnant and now we only have 46 days to go. Hopefully, the little one hangs in there for the 46 days so we can get all moved into our new place...Man, am I nervous about being a first time dad and getting everything all set for the big arrival...

More updates to come once the little one appears...

Twenty-four days behind you! Again, based solely on the due date and well aware we could go anytime before or after.

But once you post about your child arriving, I'll know I have less than a month left myself.

Crazy baby showers .... don't people understand LESS IS MORE!!!!

Sorry, everytime I clean/organize our place we're getting soooo much stuff.

True, better than paying for all of it ourselves.

It boggles me to this day the amount of STUFF we use with the kids. The worst part is that we use it! It's not just useless crap taking up space. I'm not a pack rat, but we have so much baby/kid stuff around it's nuts. Thankfully we got a lot as gifts, hand-me-downs & borrowed, so we didn't have to pay for it all. It'll be nice as the little guy gets bigger to get rid of things as we go! I've already sold our first stroller, and the preemie clothes that no longer fit. (Gotta love eBay!)

Oh, grasshopper, you have much to learn. As Amber said, you'll use it ALL. Even that useless thing someone bought you in the corner. I was thinking "Bottle warmer? We don't need one of those!" Guess who wound up driving to Memphis to buy one. BTW, there are no good stores that sell baby "stuff" in Tupelo, MS. You have to drive to Memphis if you want something other than diapers and baby wipes. Wal-Mart's (all three of them) selection on the baby section looks like a clearance rack. It astounds me that we have three Wal-Marts and NO Target.....

Tell me about it. We are receiving so much stuff at the baby showers. Our Apt is so cramped right now with baby stuff. Fortunately we were able to find new home and will be closing in a couple of weeks....

We had the opposite problem. We never had any showers (with the exception of some nice people that sent us stuff off of Amazon.com. Another big THANK you to them. That backpack ROCKS!), so it was a mad dash to Babies R Us for stuff that we weren't sure if we would need or not. We had a car seat and a stroller, but that was about it. Given the fact that Gavin was several weeks early, the clothing we bought was too big, too. He's already outgrown a couple of his premie outfits already, so he's on his way now.

Yeah, wait until you hear the "Um, honey? We need to go....NOW." That was the height of freak out for me.

Now, imagine being half-way across the country and hearing that!

That's why we induced with our first.

(With the second, I still had to give Bill a long-distance call. He had to drive up from Indy the day Brandon got evicted..)

We were planning on inducing with Gavin. Luckily, things turned south when I was in Florida and I came home early. The day we brought him home we got a letter in the mail saying "Your Strep B culture was positive. This may mean that your water may break early causing premature delivery." Yeah, info that would have been handy to have the week before.

I really hope that doesn't happen to me. I was do some math the other day on a long layover and realized if I'm on an overnight it may take me 12 hours to get home. I unfortnuately am going to have to work until about 1 week before the due date. The doc did indicate that if she goes past the due date then we can induce.

Wish me luck that the little bean goes for an "on-time arrival"

I'm starting to get a little nervous. I imagine I am going to be freaking out if I am on a trip near the end. Hopefully, I can bid and get sometime off before my FMLA/Vacation starts...

PS Glad to hear Gavin is doing well..

Ah, yes, the possibility of being far away when the big call comes! That's why we induced!!!

Our little guy is doing okay. He's colicky and screams. A lot. But I know it's just a phase, and it'll pass. He's gaining a lot of weight, and finally has some 'baby fat'. He's looking good though, and is sleeping longer times at night now. All-in-all it's going very well, though when he's screaming for hours a day, it gets old. I told him the other day that I was going to return him to the NICU. But I felt bad later and told him I didn't mean it.

Hope you guys have an on-time and uneventful arrival!
