Online university

I'm thinking about trying out an online University, but would like some recommendations on a good one. I'm not interested in any Aviation degree, but Business since I have 60 hours left. I'd like to fly a little more and chip away at the remaining 60 hours at night.

Do a search on ERAU online and UVSC, you'll come up with some interesting threads. I don't recall too many conversations about non-aviation online universities in the past. But then again, that is not surprising considering it is an aviation site.

lots and LOTS of state schools have online programs now, I do my MBA through the university of colorado distance program, I'd just start picking schools and look around.

Make sure its from an accredited University. I heard through the grape vine that some dude went to a FEDEX interview and when they asked him about his degree they didn't like the answers. They saw where he went to school and asked him where it was, and he replied it;s an online school. Then they started digging and found out it wasn't an accredited university. Buyer beware! You get what you pay for.

sucks to be that guy!

the thing I like about a state school, the degree will say U of wherever, not u of wherever ONLINE

When you talk about being accredited, where can you find out if a school is properly accredited ? Most online schools and regular schools i've seen claim to be accredited by somebody, but what exactly is an employer looking for when they look for a degree from an "accredited" university ? Basically what i'm asking is what to look for as far as this goes to be able to say yes thats good, or no look somewhere else !! Thanks

When I wanted to verify that UVSC was an accredited school I went the air force education office on base and asked them if the school was acceptable for them if I wanted to go to officer training. Calling a recruiter would do the same. There was a book she looked in to find it, I don't know what it was called but I bet you could find it at the local bookstore.

tons of state schools have online progams these days. I do my MBA through the U. of CO because when I graduate the degree will say U of CO, not U of CO ONLINE :o

Check out the state schools where you are, doesn't hurt to pay in state tuition either :)

The Army has a distance learning program set up with ERAU online...i know the school is great..but has anyone had any personal experiences with an actual online degree from ERAU...

3/4 of my classes were done online from erau. I actually like it better than the classroom. Life is easier when you can log in whenever you have time especially during deployments, tdy, field exercises. All of the instructors I've had understand these things come up, and as long as you communicate with them what your status is they have worked with me.

I got a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from Thomas Edison State College thru the eArmyU program from the US Army. The school is legitimate and it actually was quite challenging. Its based out of Trenton, NJ.
