Online firc

For ease of use/price AF is the way to go. If you're actually looking to learn, I'd probably look elsewhere.

Nothing like being taught about effective teaching techniques by what is basically a really long word document.

And what is with the holding your cursor over the pictures to zoom in? Not once did I think "hey, I think this completely unrelated picture needs to be bigger."

AF FIRC. I paid $0 and get it for life. :-D . For everyone else it's $100, and you can't fail. Literally. If you fail a quiz, you get retrained (read the material, have 2 tabs open. One for content, one with the quiz), and if you fail an OPEN BOOK test a second time I'm seriously concerned...

Just my opinion, but taking an online flight instructor refresher course (FIRC) is not as beneficial as doing a classroom FIRC. In the classroom you have the opportunity to learn from other instructors, share experiences, mentor, and make some new flying aquaintances. The regulations say 16+ hours is required, so I am wondering how the online classes are able to sign someone off if they merely button click and get to the last page in "two hours" as someone mentioned. Wouldn't this be tantamount to falsefying a logbook?

You keep your screen saver, and sleep mode off. Read the content, keep a second tab opened with the quiz when available, another tab opened at all times for the content to run down the time. Take the quiz, and if you get caught not knowing a question, you hop on over to the other tab, and answer the question. People that fail the quizzes I really worry about. As American Airlines taught their pilots........ RTFQ.

Well, looks like its time for me to renew my CFI. Does anyone know if the American Flyers program will work on an iPad?
