on scholarship...still worth it?

It depends on how one does the math. Its a flat rate for 12 to 18 hours, so the more you take, the cheaper it gets per credit hour. Is the school worth it, to me, yes. Aparently others don't think its worth the money.

16 hours was too much for me with work and flying, never got any sleep, wouldn't even know how to fit in 18 hours.

And that is why I chose to do ERAU online courses instead of attend the residential campus.

Here are the updated figures.

Also, the flight time is not too expensive. I dated a girl that is getting her masters and all her ratings from ERAU Daytona and I thought it was a lot more until she was telling me what she paid.

When they bring back fixed price you let me know. DAB grad '03

Im not saying it is cheap. It is just not nearly as expensive as people were talking about in this thread.

Compared to the other flight training available in Daytona Beach, it is. Most of the price difference comes where ERAU charges $50+/hr for instruction, whereas the other schools only charge $30/hr. Couple that with the fact that the planes are a tad bit cheaper at the other FBO's, and the numbers add up quick. The prices Embry-Riddle lists as course costs, are nothing more than the Part 142 minimum's, times the hourly cost. From my experience, and with what I've seen through other people, it isn't likely to accomplish the course's in the minimum time.

Seems It's exactly as expensive as I was talking about.
Pretty sure you exaggerated by about $500!!!! Geesh how dare you?!?!? Lol..... I actually didn't even see your post. I must have accidently skipped over it. I saw the post where someone mentioned $40K for a private. Guess I should read a little better next time.

I agree that they aren't cheap. I was going to move to DAB and get my degree at ERAU. I was going to use another FBO on field to do my flight training because of the cost. I then saw how much cheaper the WorldWide programs are and went that route. I think the residential programs are outrageously price.

It used to be a leftover of the '99 period when Adams and Oconner were still "new" halls. Had to pay for it somehow. People going there paid it without blinking, as they still do, so riddle just kept the price up. No measure of value/dollar at that university at all anymore. Mostly our own faults.
