Old Airline Back

It's not a relive of the past Western is it? And I do remember them and B707's. Sorry, older then you. I remember then Northwest was Northwest Orient!

It's just a charter operating company, the flights appear to be operated by Xtra Airways:

From Western's website:
"Western, a public charter based in Bellingham, WA with flights operated by Xtra Airways of Elko, NV, is a low-cost provider of nonstop flights from Bellingham International Airport (BLI) to some of the western United States' most popular vacation destinations."

The Red and the Green to me means TWA vs. Ozark :)

Now it's the Red and the Silver...... TWA vs. AA.

I remember flying Eastern thru Atlanta to DFW (I met Muhammad Ali in Atlanta, but that's another story) and seeing some Braniff planes in Dallas.

Wow. I'm old.

Anyone remember "People Express" - it was touted as the airline of the future back in 1983? Didn't even survive the decade.

I also flew Braniff, TWA, Pan Am, and Eastern.

They should just let the good old names go. The "new" Pan Am is nothing like the glory days of the old; they should just let it go, kind of like retiring an athlete's number and jersey.

Nope...Red Tail vs. Green Tail.....

What you hear the old timers at NWA talking about. If you were a Red Tail, you were from Northwest Orient. If you were a Green Tail, you were from Republic Airlines....

I seem to remember an ad from Western; a bird was sitting on the top of the fuselage, leaning against the vertical stabilizer . . . drinking champagne. The bird said, "Western, The ONLY way to fly!"

I loved flying PSA when I was a kid. If the current PSA is not flying 72's with a big smile on the front, then they aren't PSA.

Oh yeah . . .TWA was my favorite airline as an adult . . . sad how those people were treated.

They should retire Jerry Rice's jersey.

Looks like they're going to be giving Crystal Airways a run for their money!

I wonder how many guys paid to apply there... :)

I also remember as a kid, I loved the "Hughes Airwest - Top Bananas in the West" ad. I always wanted to fly for them in their big yellow jets.
