Hypothetically, here's the following clearance:

"...Cleared to KOKC present position direct Springfield (SGF), resume the Springfield transition on the GULLI1 arrival, cross SGF at and maintain FL180."

You cross SGF at FL180 and proceed inbound...and immediately lose COMMS. At what point is it appropriate to descend further to comply with the lower MAA inbound at SEGLR intersection?
 
My initial thought is to cross SEGLR at FL180 and start your descent there.

Be interesting to hear other's thoughts on this though.
