I know of no carrier that will allow an FO to upgrade to RJ CA without at least 2500 hrs. I also know of no insurance company that would insure such airline.

I have seen 1500 hr pilots waiting for their 23rd birthday so they can upgrade to turboprop CA however.

Yup. Spent some time this weekend looking up labor law and you (and the other folks) are correct.

This was more a rhetorical question, but at least I learned something anyway.

I mean more power to anyone who can get hired at such low times and I sure wouldn't turn it down if it were offered to me - I just wasn't aware that "discrimination" only applies to "protected" classes of people.
