I'm doing some "night before" studying before my Moscow trip and I ran across this gem:

"Review Moscow Lost Comm Procedures. They have upgraded their air defense systems and reduced "shoot down response time" for wayward non-communicating aircraft."

Either way, I don't really care. I'm due for the six month in November so it doesn't really matter.

BTW, I rapped with a bunch of 777'ers going to Mumbai this evening while waiting for the van. You're going to have loads of fun on the 777!

Has crew sched dropped your last two legs yet?
 
See, that is the ONE thing I don't think I will enjoy when (ok, IF) I get to be doing international some day. As much as I hate the up and down aspect of 8 leg days, I really do enjoy landing the thing. You guys get what, 3 or 4 landings a month?

Not yet, they get nervous until they're virtually certain the other guy's going to check in for his trip...

Lemme think. In September, I've done about two. I love the relief pilot position AND the flying FO seat. They're both a lot of fun.

It might be my fault. I had the nag-screen for not being SVO-qualed for the trip and I couldn't clear it. I called crew scheduling about that and they were so relieved that I wasn't calling in sick.

I asked, "If I didn't call in sick for an Accra, why would I call in sick for a SVO? :)"

Chances are, you'll hear tomorrow probably.
