Ok, not really that different....
Hi, long time lurker, first time poster...
Like most, I've always wanted to be an airline pilot but continuiously got talked out of it by parents, teachers, etc. Now I'm 31 and ready to roll.
My questions are the same as most - full time academy? part time FBO? Theoretically, I can afford the full time academy by doing a re-fi / equity line on my house (gotta love the So Cal housing market).
So in 15 words or less, what is the best, cheapest, fastest and most foolproof way to get my hours and get hiried?? Just kidding, but I am looking to sort of fasttrack my training. I have done some research on RAA, Flight Safety Academy, DCA, but all these are in Fla and would require a temp re-loc. There is an outfit in San Diego - San Diego Flight Training Intl which offers a Jet Connect program in connection with Delta, but I haven't heard anything (positive or negative) about that.
Also, does the fact that I'm a girl benefit me at all when it comes to hiring? I have never played the "girl" card before, but do airlines have "quotas" (and I hate using that term or even thinking about it) for hiring?
BTW, I'm in So Cal, so any CFI's out there near SNA please let me know!!
Thanks
