Oh no...another airplane???!

Another company assuming they can build a jet by 2007. I won't believe it until I see it. Here is the "full" story:

BEIJING, June 23 (UPI) -- Chinese officials announced Wednesday their nation's first passenger plane with up to 100 seats is expected to make its maiden test flight in 2006.

Zhang Ju'en, with the China Aviation Industry Corp., said Chinese passengers may travel in the aircraft as early as 2007, the official Xinhua news agency reported.

The new airplane is designed to have 70 to 100 seats, and will be used on some of the country's domestic non-main lines, another report said.

The government has allocated $240 million for the project.

Zhang said the company has so far received 35 orders for the plane, which is still under development.
 
HEy, you just changed your avatar. Good selection. I was just talking to a Hooters' waitress the other night about the airline. I knew that it was an idea, but never heard if it got off the ground (pun intended, I'm a dork) or not. If this pic is real I'm assuming it has? Also I heard that at the Hooters in Amsterdam that the girls are topless, any truth to this? Anybody?

They are planning on allocating $240 mill for the design of the jet? That seems a little low to me, unless Im mistaken.
 
I'd be surprised if it goes past the drawing board. For a jet that is supposed to be coming out in 2007 we should at least be seeing pictures.

I’ve been to Amsterdam many times on “business” and don’t recall there even being a Hooters. Been to Hooters in Key West and even in Feldkirsh Austria, but I can’t remember ever seeing one in Amsterdam. It’s either those damn brownies or all of the other topless and bottomless stuff they have over there!

Yep, no Hooters in Amsterdam (I looked on the Hooters site), but pleanty of "other things" over there to keep people satisfied.

Brian, after seeing your new avtar, it has given me another reason to check out hooters air. WOW. Is it that way on all of the flights or just the lucky few?

I'm sure they'll be able to build it. After all, when you don't have to pay your workers jack, and you can beat them if they say, God, I'm tired......
