P-8 took a swim in Hawaii. No injuries.

There is a lot of irony in this. Let's all hope there weren't any submarines that were harmed

Still more airplanes in the sea than submarines in the sky.

haha

Somehow this reminds me of being on deployment, and working with some Strike Eagle dudes who were shore based in the Middle East, while we were afloat on the big boat a couple hundred miles away. We'd been emailing with their Weapons Officer for a few days, and it was basically a run of the mill trade of assets. It normally goes like "we will put up 8 jets to be red air/bad guys" during some date/time, and then you do the same for us at a different date/time. But instead, they asked for something absurd like 130 small boats, because I guess we are the navy. We're like, "dood, we can give you a 4 ship of red air, we don't have 130 boats you morons".

Overrun on a wet, 7500ft runway. KBay isn't exactly HNL. From the early pics I thought they put it on the sandbar in the bay. 22 is the easier approach as well. Hardly land on it though, due to the prevailing winds....makes me wonder.

Not exactly a short runway though, even wet. Shouldn't have been that heavy either.

We can put a 330 down there, wet runway or not so a lightweight 737 shouldn't be an issue. 22 is a much simpler approach, but the trade winds (which were pretty gusty yesterday) make it a less than desirable option most of the time.

I was in the 3rd seat, but we took a 747 in there. Was a new guy on OE. I was jealous

Then after min rest on the way out the captain told me that I wasn’t allowed to be sarcastic anymore as it was distracting. I was pretty quiet after that as apparently I can’t not be sarcastic.
