Oh AmeriJet

Didn’t even know they were still around.

Always see one of their old 727s sitting at CNO

In 2016 Kalitta decided the Amerijet 727 should never fly again, the wing pierced the pressure bulkhead.

When are you at Chino?

Stop yelling at your FO

Same Kalitta tail number pictured above - KTCL 2019:

The crew reported that they noted a red warning light for the nose gear position, and heard the audible gear warning horn. The CVR recorded the captain queried, "what horn was that?" and the first officer (FO) responded, "[unintelligible] gear warning horn."
The flight engineer (FE) stated that he recommended that they recycle the gear, the captain declined. The FO stated that he recommended that they go around to troubleshoot, the captain declined. The CVR recorded multiple automated "sink rate, pull up" warnings and the captain responded, "yeah, yeah, I got it." The FO then queried, "you gonna go around?", and the captain responded, "ah I'm gonna go I got, it, I got it." The captain reportedly stated that the airplane had a history of a microswitch issue, and pressed on the gear handle and light. As the power was reduced to idle, the gear warning horn and the GPWS audible alerts sounded.
The captain continued the approach and after landing, upon derotation, the forward fuselage contacted the runway and the airplane quickly slid to a stop with the nose gear retracted.
After the airplane came to a stop, the captain stated, "it wasn't down," and the FO made a radio call to tower. About five seconds later the FO stated, "shoulda gone around," and the captain responded, "yeah, shoulda."

I’m too lazy to find it on liveatc, but this just seems off. It sounds like a different voice than who I presume is the PM initially and is yelling at the PM to watch their speed and pull the power back? And happening to key up at every phrase?

You know there is an ATC training washout that now makes parody videos and audio clips for entertainment purposes. Always be skeptical of content like this.

Also, AmeriJet went on strike in this century because the crews had to use bags and 5 gallon buckets aboard the aircraft among other culture issues. So if the video is true, then I wouldn’t be surprised.

yes the video is true. And the ATC memes guys videos are obvious parody’s. Also he’s moved on to better things

One part of me says this guy isn’t fit to be a captain, but the other part of me realizes I haven’t had to work for companies who will literally hire anyone so who knows how much this guy had to put up with.

Presumably PM there seems pretty calm and why is the other guy yelling about gear and thrust coming back? Not enough info to answer my questions. Could be a weak pilot he's with or some people just make stuff really difficult then think they're gods gift to the world of aviators for saving the day from the "horrible pilots we keep hiring", lol.

I’ve heard a couple hot mics from TEB departures where someone is yelling to “watch your altitude!” as they blast through 1500’
Those weren‘t “hot mics”. Those were white-knuckle grips on a forward pushed yoke that involved floating stuff in the cabin and an inadvertent squeeze of the mic button!

A…friend told me that!

I dislike that departure so much. It's the absolute worst with the 16R departure coming out of VNY a close second.

Any of the 16R departures are secretly an instrument checkride. It is a test of your understanding of TERPS, phraseology with ATC related task saturation, vertical and lateral navigation performance, speed & configuration management and throw in a TA-RA for good measure.
