Oh, American...

Just finished a trip with Kaptain Key Up, he wanted me to ask every single controller about the rides. Then if he didn't like the answer would key up, because you know it's more official if the Captain, errr Kaptain is talking. I told him "your radios" initially he was dumbfounded. I told him if he wants to talk on the radio and fly go ahead. I think he actually liked that. 🤣

Ask him if he’s been too MSN lately.

I flew with a CA like that asking about rides with check on to new ATC frequencies.

You know what I did? My job as FO and asked for rides. How fragile egoes must be that you can’t key up and talk for 5 seconds. So what if he asked or talked on the radio himself when it came rides in the Flight Levels (a low risk, less busy environment).

In this country, CRM went from far authoritarian to far “we’re all equal and don’t hurt my feelings.” I’ve seen some stuff that was beyond crossing the line from respectful to disrespectful.

Man, this is an insane amount of effort to be triggered.

Because most FOs are going to argue about that.

“I I’ll talk to em!!”

I’m sorry, Dave, I can’t let you do that”

I would just let the CA do it.

While saying “Ixnay on the upid stay!”

WHO YOU CALLING UPID STAY!

Oh my, my, my, look at the sun, it’s time for a position report!

1) There are better ways to get ride information, I would assume, even at the Eskimo. Now, if the Secure Bumpometer is telling me that it's rough ahead, I'll solicit pilot reports if someone's ahead of us or in the vicinity.

2) Stop (expletive) clogging up the frequency and use (1).

Could be worse, could be the guy who always reports smooth to whatever ride reports he’s asked for, just to invite others down to his flight level of misery.
When SJI says it’s smooth, you take it to the bank, tho’.
